Hannaford Helps, Helps the Pantry

Our local Scarborough Hannaford has pledged their holiday community donations to the Scarborough Food Pantry.

This year, in place of the traditional Helps Fight Hunger boxes, stores will be collecting cash donations (in the form of $5 and $10 gift cards) going directly to food pantries. Look for the donation towers in-store to help your neighbors.

As always, shoppers can always pick up a gift card of any amount to help us buy what we need. Contact us about how to give gift cards or other direct donations.

During the five weeks mid-November to mid-December, H annaford customers can help fight hunger by being on the lookout for the Buy 1, Give 1 Program beginning November 15. When customers purchase participating products, Hannaford will donate the same item to a regional food bank (Good Shepherd). None of this food will come to the Scarborough Food Pantry, but it will go to communities serving the hungry in Maine. (Week One: 11/15: Canned Vegetables; Week Two: 11/22: Pasta; Week Three: 11/29: Applesauce; Week Four: 12/6: Cereal;Week Five: 12/13: Toothbrushes and Toothpaste.)
